Museum Tour

Both the Dragon Expo and IPMS Nationals have arranged for tours around the various museums, naval bases, and other sites around Virginia Beach. Experience all that the city has to offer with your family and fellow hobbyists! Price is per person and covers both transportation and admissions.

Fighter Factory daytime visit – Friday August 8th, Cost $25. Min 30, Max 55 sign-ups. Expect 2 hours on-site. Thursday’s tour cancelled.

NAS Oceana Flightline – Friday August 8th. Cost $25. Min 30, Max 55 sign-ups. A must see if you like jets! Expect a 5 hour tour with 4 hours on-site including lunch on base (cost extra). . Photography will be allowed.

Note: You will need a picture ID. The tour list will be screened by the Navy and there is no opportunity to drive in separately regardless if you are active duty/reserve/retired. Non-US citizens will be permitted. Photography will be permitted.

Amphibious base tour – Thursday, August 7th. Cost $25. Min 30, max 55 sign-ups. the tour will take you on board an Amphibious Transport Dock (LSD) and to Assault Craft Unit Four – home of the East Coast air cushioned landing craft (LCAC). . Photography will be allowed. Expect a 6 hour tour with 4 hours on site.

Non-US citizens will be permitted. Photography will be permitted. Bring closed-toe comfortable shoes. Women are suggested to wear shorts/pants.

Naval Station Norfolk tour – Saturday, August 9th. Cost $25. Min 30, max 55 sign-ups. The tour will take you on board cruiser or destroyer and a tour of the waterfront. Photography will be allowed. Expect a 6 hour tour with 4 hours on site.

Norfolk/Olde Towne Portsmouth trip – Friday, August 8th. Cost $25, Min 30. A chance for other members of the family to do some sightseeing, shopping and dining! This trip is scheduled for downtown Norfolk with its stores, restaurants and attractions. There is the option for an inexpensive ferry trip to Portsmouth with its old homes, antiques and restaurants. We suggest you plan for a 6-8 hour trip with a lunch break planned.
